Michigan’s parks provide scenic places to play and relax. The sandy beaches along Lake Michigan are among the finest beaches in the U.S. We are known for an abundance of city and county parks that offer beautiful beaches, sand dunes, spectacular views, nature trails and much more!
Holland State Park
“Holland State Park offers an expansive, sandy beach along Lake Michigan, two large campgrounds and a beautiful view of sailboats and sunsets. The park is divided into two separate units; one along Lake Michigan and the other along Lake Macatawa. The park was acquired from the City of Holland in December 1926. Since then it has been intensively used for its great beach and excellent campgrounds.”

Olive Shores Park
” This mostly wooded 20-acre site includes a mature beech-maple-hemlock forest, a steep dune formation, and 738 of Lake Michigan beach frontage. Improvements completed in 2012 include a paved parking area, modern restrooms, a barrier-free trail loop, and an extensive series of stairs and boardwalks traversing the dune and providing access to the sandy beach. Decks provide seating and views of Lake Michigan and host a display highlighting the property as the site of a scene from the Tom Hanks movie, “Road to Perdition.”
